This year, our Alex Christmas Market looks set to be our best ever, with a wide range of businesses joining us from the Alex community, offering paintings, Christmas decorations, jewellery, and more. We plan to serve seasonal refreshments on both days, feature carols from Alex music students and even have a visit from Santa. We look forward to seeing you all there on Saturday 14 & Sunday 15 December!

Applications are open for vendors for our annual Alex Christmas Market! If you wish to reserve a stall for selling your wares, from paintings, to soap, to silk, satin, Christmas decorations and more, please fill out the form linked below. The cost is €40 per stall per day.

We expect to draw a large crowd to the College this year, so there will be plenty of people around to purchase your products. We are particularly interested in supporting women in small businesses and giving them an opportunity to expose their products to a wide audience. We plan to serve seasonal refreshments on both days, feature carols from Alex music students and even have a visit from Santa. The Dr Robert Kirkpatrick Boarding Scholarship, awarded to an incoming 1st Year boarding student, covering tuition and board for 1st - 6th Year

The Hermione Boarding Scholarship, awarded to an incoming 5th Year boarding student, covering tuition and board for 5th & 6th Year

The Dr Annie Patterson Music Scholarship, awarded to an incoming 1st Year music student, covering either day or boarding tuition and music tuition for 1st - 6th Year

The Alexandra College Day Scholarship, awarded to an incoming 1st Year student, covering tuition for 1st - 6th Year

The annual Hermione Lecture in Fine Art will be taking place on Thursday 4 May 2023 at 4:30 pm. This lecture, which has run uninterrupted since 1896, will be delivered by Aoife Keogh, Lecturer in Education at NCAD. In a lecture titled “How to be an Artist?”, Aoife will be exploring the role of the artist in society and what qualities it takes to be an artist. In doing so we may gain insights into the life of the artist, why it is so difficult to be successful and how we should value what artists do.

The Hermione Lecture has a long and cherished history in the College. Named after Hermione, Duchess of Leinster and namesake of our Residence, the lecture has featured the works of artists and art historians such as Mary Swanzy, Jack B Yeats, and Mainie Jellet.
