Senior Rugby Update
The Senior Boys Rugby squad continued their pre-season preparations with a brilliant training and team-bonding day at Wicklow RFC and Brittas Bay. A great opportunity to put in some hard work and build connections ahead of the new season!
A well done to Jacob Hanna, Graeme Wildish and Fred Dick, who were all involved with the Leinster U17s over the summer, finishing up with an Interprovincial Blitz in Mullingar last week.
It’s also great to welcome back Johnny Woods following the Irish Schools tour to South Africa, where he was heavily involved in all three games and had the honour of co-captaining the squad.
Continued congratulations and best wishes to Thibault Campbell, who started for Leinster U19s in their win away to Connacht last week. Thibault starts again against Munster this weekend, as Leinster look to finish their Interprovincial campaign by securing the championship.
Attention now turns back to Wesley, with the Senior Boys playing their first match of the season this Saturday at home against Pres Bray.
Plenty to be excited about as another season of Wesley Rugby gets underway!

1st Year Rugby Day
Before even stepping into the classroom, our new Preps and 1st Years got their Wesley journey underway with their rugby camp day in school!
A brilliant opportunity to get out on the pitch, meet new classmates, make friends and get an introduction to Wesley College rugby. All went home with their own rugby ball too!
A great start to their time in Wesley, plenty more rugby to come!

Double Leinster Representation
Congratulations to Jack Delany, who enjoyed a remarkable summer representing Leinster in both hockey and cricket. Jack was selected for the Leinster Schools Cricket team, playing in two matches, and also represented the Leinster U17 Cricket team against Munster and the Northern Cricket Union. Alongside his cricket commitments, Jack also represented Leinster Hockey, making it a truly exceptional summer of representative sport. To represent Leinster in two sports in the same summer is a testament to Jack's talent, dedication and hard work.
Well done, Jack, on an outstanding summer and on representing both Wesley College and Leinster with distinction.

Senior Hockey Trip To The Netherlands
A squad of 28 Senior Boys and 14 Senior Girls, accompanied by five staff members, enjoyed an unforgettable hockey tour to the Netherlands, combining competitive fixtures, professional coaching and the opportunity to watch world-class hockey at the Hockey World Cup.
Throughout the tour, our teams trained and competed against leading Dutch clubs including Hilversum HC, Push Breda HC and Oranje-Rod HC. The Senior Boys 1st XI produced an outstanding series of performances, recording victories in all three of their fixtures. Notable goalscorers included Conor Fox alongside contributions from Jake Fulton, Louis Rothwell, Jonah Nathan, Hugh Hamilton, Adam Bailey, Patrick Caulwell, Harry Grainger, Josh Ellis and Andrew Cherry.
The Senior Boys 2nd XI also enjoyed a successful tour, securing victories against Push Breda and Helmond HC. Goals came from Ross Collins, Axel Roulston, Sam Bowling, Adam Bailey, Alfie Mitchell and Adam Stuart.
The Senior Girls faced strong opposition throughout their three fixtures against experienced Dutch sides. While results did not go their way, the team showed tremendous resilience, determination and spirit, competing at a very high level and gaining valuable experience against some of the strongest club hockey opposition in Europe.
In addition to the matches, players benefited from coaching sessions delivered by Dutch club coaches and experienced the incredible atmosphere of the Hockey World Cup, watching international matches featuring the Netherlands, Argentina, India, Pakistan, Japan, New Zealand, South Africa and others.
Away from the pitch, the group enjoyed a visit to Duinrell Water Park, a canal pancake cruise through Amsterdam, and the opportunity to explore Dutch culture while building friendships and making lasting memories together.
The tour was a fantastic experience for everyone involved, providing valuable development opportunities both on and off the field. A huge thank you to all of the students for representing Wesley College with such enthusiasm, commitment and sportsmanship throughout the trip. The memories made, lessons learned and experiences shared will stay with the group for years to come. A huge thank you to the staff for travelling and looking after everyone!
