Byrdsong Music Together

After an amazing two-and-a-half years teaching Byrdsong Music Together in Dublin, I've had to end the classes because we are moving away. Thanks to everyone who has been inquiring about new classes this term -- I am so sorry to say that there won't be any new classes for the foreseeable future. Thank you to all the wonderful families who made music with me these last few years. Keep on singing!

I am going to miss these wonderful kiddos! We had our last Byrdsong Music Together classes last week.

What an amazing community experience we had drumming in the park this morning! Thanks to all of you who came to all of the drumming playshops with Drum Dance Ireland this weekend in the Rathmines & Rathgar Musical Society, Craobh Chiaráin, and St. Anne's Park. Thanks to Urs for driving all the way from Kerry with his vanload of incredible drums. I hope you all had fun, and are inspired to put more rhythm into your lives! Thank you!

Dublin friends: Drum Dance Ireland will be in St. Anne's Park tomorrow morning, across from the Red Stables/Olives Room for two sessions: 10:15am and 11:15am. Bring your kids to this amazing interactive rhythm playshop! I invited Urs Wenk, of Drum Dance Ireland, and he has traveled up from Kerry for this weekend with a whole van load of incredible drums. Drum Dance Ireland is holding two drumming sessions this Sunday morning, November 4, at 10:15am and 11:15am in St. Anne's Park, across from the Red Stables/ Olive's Room. For kids of all ages. More than 40 big drums and other percussion instruments will be available to play, with interactive games and activities designed to teach a little bit about rhythm and playing together while having lots of fun. Suggested donation 10 euros/family.

Indoor sessions also available: 3:30pm Nov 3 at the Rathmines & Rathgar Musical Society, and 2pm Nov 4 at Craobh Chiaráin GAA club at Parnell Park in Donnycarney. These indoor sessions require pre-registration at www.byrdsong.net. Both are nearly sold out.

Registration is now open for indoor drumming playshops with Drum Dance Ireland on Saturday and Sunday, November 3 and 4. Don't miss out on these AMAZING drumming sessions for kids of ages! The 50-minute drumming sessions are all about games and making instant music with a large variety of drums, percussion and sound instruments in a relaxed atmosphere. This is a fabulous opportunity, as Drum Dance Ireland is traveling up from Kerry for these sessions. They are bringing a whole vanload of huge drums!
The first session is on Saturday, November 3, at 3:30pm at the Rathmines & Rathgar Musical Society on Upper Rathmines Road. Pay at the door of €10/family, or a reduced rate of €7 for families currently enrolled in Byrdsong Music Together.
I hope to hold one more indoor session on Sunday afternoon, November 4, at 2pm in Le Chéile Donnycarney. There will be a cost at the door of €10/family and €7/family currently enrolled in Byrdsong Music Together. This session is still to be confirmed, but you can register your interest and save your spot now.

We had a great big turnout for the Byrdsong Bonus Family Singalong on Saturday, with nearly 20 children and babies, and even more adults! It was lively and fun and loud (with quiet moments, too!), and I really appreciate you all making the effort to get out early on a Saturday morning, with several families driving all the way across town for the class. It was fantastic to see so many dads singing and dancing. And a special thanks to the grandparents, who were such wonderful singers! The next bonus class is November 10, in Le Cheile Donnycarney.
