UCD School of Geography, Planning and Environmental Policy The School is a community of scholars and students of human and physical geography and the applied fields of environmental policy and planning.

UCD - School of Geography, Planning and Environmental Policy (GPEP) is the only University School in Ireland specialising in research and teaching in geography, spatial planning, environmental policy and economics. We are an international community searching for a greater understanding of our living environment and the natural, socio-economic and political processes that underpin it. We currently

offer the following undergraduate programmes in our School - BA Geography (DN500) and BA Planning, Geography and Environment (DN514). We have five taught Masters courses - they are: MA in Geography, MA in Urban Studies, MA in Geopolitics and the Global Economy, Masters in Regional and Urban Planning (MRUP) and the MSc in Environmental Policy. We also have a Research Masters program and a PhD Degree course. Five researchers from Center for Ecological-Noosphere Studies (CENS) of National Academy of Sciences of Armenia have visited GPEP in scope of FP7 EcoArm2ERA project. CENS is the main beneficiary of the project and directly supported through its European twinning partners: UCD School of Geography, Planning & Environmental Policy and Institute of Environmental Sciences, University of Geneva. Dr Lilit Sahakyan, Deputy Director of the CENS and Dr Shushanik Asmaryan, Head of the GIS & Remote Sensing Department gave a lunchtime seminar as part of the UCD Earth Institute seminar series. Dr Harutyun Shahumyan from GPEP conducted a practical workshop for the visitors on application of the land use modelling supporting decision makers.

You are welcome to Earth Institute lunch time seminar on Wednesday May 21st in Science Centre Hub room H2.20, where Dr Lilit Sahakyan and Dr Shushanik Asmaryan will present the research directions and capabilities of the centre as well as their interest in scientific collaboration.
