Ardscoil Rís Student Council

This week In ardscoil Ris there is a clothing collection for the refugee crisis in the European Union. If you have any old clothes that you do not wear anymore and could still be of some use to someone please bring them in over the course of the week. Thank you.

Reminder that The Kube is on Friday 8th of May. Tickets can be bought from students council members that go around to you're classes, tickets are priced: ASR students and under 16s :10 euro. Over 18: 20 euro. Family tickets can be bought for 50 euro, all funding goes towards the Pitch development.

The ASR Student Council page is back up and running, we will be posting all information and news about upcoming events and activities in the school from now on! Share the page with your classmates so that everyone is invoved!

Application forms for next year's council are now available - must be returned to any council member by 3.30pm Wednesday. We encourage you all to apply and make a difference for the student body!

Best of luck to our senior debating team tomorrow, home to St. Aidan's at 8pm. ASR are proposing the motion, "Young people in Ireland are building a better world" and all support is welcome.

Reminder to 6th years: whoever brings in the most money for school walk will have their debs tickets paid for by the Council.

School walk is set to go ahead during the first class tomorrow morning, but the forecast is a bit dodgy so bring rain gear! You can wear runners instead of normal school shoes but otherwise wear your uniform, unless you are running the walk with Mr Byrne. Maps will be available to younger students as you leave, and make sure to bring your walk card or any piece of paper to sign at each checkpoint. Refreshments available afterwards. Have fun and enjoy the mid-term break!

Congratulations to our senior debating team on their victory over Portmarnock Community School tonight in a unanimous verdict. Great start to the season!

Best of luck to our senior debating team tonight as they begin their season at home against Portmarnock Community School, opposing the motion: "Aid to the Developing World is a luxury Ireland cannot afford." Debate is at 8pm in ASR, supporters are welcome.

The annual sponsored school walk is scheduled for Friday 25th October. Walk cards will be collected after the mid-term break and we ask for a contribution of at least €10 per card. We will be canvassing the student body over the next few days for your suggestions to improve your lives in the school, and all feedback is welcome!
