This week in our group, we explored the wonderful world of oceans, seas, and rivers through our Aistear curriculum!
Our little learners discovered marine life, water habitats, and the importance of protecting our environment. Through sensory play, creative art activities, storytelling, music, and hands-on exploration, children developed their curiosity, communication, and understanding of the natural world.
We created beautiful ocean-themed artwork, learned about sea creatures, discussed rivers and water journeys, and enjoyed fun educational activities that supported all areas of Aistear.
It was a fantastic week full of learning, creativity, and adventure as we dived deep into the magic of water!

The magic of Christmas is here!

Our little stars put on a magical Christmas performance that filled our hearts with joy and laughter! From festive songs to adorable acting, the children truly captured the spirit of the season.

And guess who made a special visit? 🎅 Santa Claus himself! The excitement in the air was unforgettable as the children shared their wishes and received surprises.

Thank you to all the families for joining us in this magical celebration – it’s moments like these that make our preschool feel like a warm, joyful family. ❤️

This week the children were fully immersed in the magic of stories and books. We explored different ways of telling stories and expressing imagination.

The children enjoyed our shadow theatre, where they watched simple shapes and characters come to life on the screen. They were excited to guess which characters appeared and to talk about what might happen next.

We also put on a small “Three Little Pigs” performance. The children helped retell the story, took turns playing different roles, and used props to bring the tale to life. This activity supported their confidence, language development, and cooperation with others.

Another highlight of the week was our cosy campfire storytelling. With warm lights and soft music, the children gathered in a circle to listen to short stories and share their own ideas about what could happen next. This encouraged creativity, active listening, and imaginative thinking.

It was a wonderful week filled with stories, fun, and lots of opportunities for the children to express themselves. 📚✨

The Importance of Learning Through Touch

For young children, exploring the world through touch is one of the most natural and effective ways to learn. By feeling different textures, shapes, and temperatures, children begin to understand how things work and what makes them unique. When they touch, squeeze, build, or mold objects, they are not only developing their sense of touch but also improving fine motor skills, hand–eye coordination, and concentration.

Sensory experiences help children make connections between what they feel and what they see or hear. This kind of active, hands-on learning supports creativity, problem-solving, and curiosity. It allows children to explore safely, express themselves freely, and gain confidence in discovering the world around them.
