RCSI SMJ X RCSI Pride Society proudly present:
LGBTQ+ Journal Club
. . . . . . .
This journal club will include two presentations:
βLGBTQ+ Individuals and Pregnancy Outcomes: A Commentaryβ (BJOG 2022) by Julie Croll, MPH.
^^ This piece is a commentary giving an overview of pregnancy outcomes in q***r individuals. We will discuss the paper to explain why these outcomes (pregnancy loss, pregnancy coming to term, fertility rates) are overall worse in LGBTQ+ people, and strategies to help change this in your own practice.
(Link to paper here: https://obgyn.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/1471-0528.17131)
βQueer-Inclusive Sexual History Taking with Clinical Pearls from the Literature.β
^^With all the s*xual diversity out there, many doctors are scared to talk to their patients about s*x - yet patients often highly value these conversations! This presentation aims to make s*xual history taking less intimidating and more inclusive toward q***r patients, with literature-based practices.
