Sociolinguistics Summer School 6

Sociolinguistics Summer School 6 Welcome to the 6th Sociolinguistics Summer School FB Page! This year's conference will take place in Trinity College Dublin from Aug 4th - 7th 2015.

The sociolinguistics summer school is the perfect opportunity for postgraduate students to network, showcase some of their original work, as well as attend workshops and talks by leading experts in the field. Traditionally each day of the summer school follows a specific ‘theme’ or topic of current relevance to sociolinguistic research, this theme often reflects the research of the invited plenary

speaker. We welcome students from any institution who wish to present on these topics, however, we also encourage students to present on other topics related to sociolinguistics. We are looking for students to present their work through oral presentations, as well as poster presentations. Undergraduate students wishing to participate are encouraged to do so with a poster presentation. Plenary Speakers

Talk: From Codeswitching to Translanguaging
Workshop: Conceptual and methodological issues in the study of bilingualism and multilingualism

5th of August: Jeffrey Kallen (Trinity College Dublin)

fact using a twelve-string guitar, rather than limiting themselves to two
six-string instruments" (Valdés, 1988: 126, cited in Toribio 2004: 133).
