It all began in 1982 when the then Kilmacud Musical & Dramatical Society was born. Our first musical Fiddler on the Roof was staged in 1984. In 1988, we then decided to focus all our efforts on musicals and since then have staged many of the best known and loved musicals available including Showboat, My Fair Lady, South Pacific, Oklahoma and Fiddler on the Roof. We are thrilled to have been twice nominated in the AIMs Awards 2026 for The SpongeBob Musical.
First up, we have Christopher McDonald, nominated in the Best Male Singer (Sullivan) category for his outstanding performance as SpongeBob himself.
And we're extra delighted to be nominated in the new category 'Best Moment of Theatre', for the Chop to the Top scene. The judging panel compliment the moment's 'infectious energy, wonderful physicality and excellent technical ex*****on.' Well done to the performers in the scene - Chris, Sarah, Niamh, Maddy, Chelo, Dave - our production team Stephen, Rachel and Kevin, and all the technical crew that made the scene so special. (Also a massive thank you to our friends in for helping us with the stairs/volcano!)

And so the 25/26 committee bows out as another season comes to an end. We've had a fantastic time, from introducing you to Broadway legends to taking a trip to a pineapple under the sea, and all the fun and frolics in-between.

You'll soon be introduced to the 2026/27 committee and we want to wish them the very best of luck. We can't wait to see what's in store for next season ❤️🎵

It's been a week since we closed The SpongeBob Musical and we figured we'd reminisce one last time.

What an amazing week of shows with The SpongeBob Musical. There are no words to express how grateful we are to every single audience member. SpongeBob is a truly magical show and we're all going to miss Bikini Bottom a lot.
