OTD Battle of Clontibret 27th May 1595 when the Irish under Hugh O'Neill defeated the English commanded by the Queen's Marshall Sir Henry Bagenal.
'That in no place wheresoever he had served in all his life he never saw more readier or perfecter shotte than the Irish'. This latter was the observation of Sir Edward York who was in command of the English cavalry.
