Thrilled for our great friend and supporter Mike Hanrahan that his beautiful song 'A River Rolls On' has been shortlisted for the 2026 Anti-Stigma Award with Alzheimer Europe. One of our proudest moments was being invited to be a part of the recording of this song, written by Mike for his mum but so relatable for so many. ❤

🎵 As part of our spotlight on the shortlisted candidates for the 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 𝗔𝗻𝘁𝗶-𝗦𝘁𝗶𝗴𝗺𝗮 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱, we are featuring Mike Hanrahan and his song "𝗔 𝗥𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗥𝗼𝗹𝗹𝘀 𝗢𝗻".

Written following a restricted window visit with his mother during the COVID-19 pandemic, “A River Rolls On” is a heartfelt tribute to her life and dedication to caring for others. Mike's mother had been living with dementia since 2012, and the song was recorded with Dublin's The Forget Me Nots, a dementia and age-friendly community choir. Released on the day of her passing, the song became a powerful way to raise awareness of dementia, family care and the experiences of those affected by the condition.

Extremely honoured to advise we are performing on the closing day of the prestigious 36th Alzheimer Europe Conference being held 27th-29th October at the Convention Centre Dublin, hosted by The Alzheimer Society of Ireland.

Themed ‘Sláinte: Building momentum in dementia through policy, research and partnership’, the event is anticipated to welcome more than 1,200 delegates from across Europe, including a strong representation from Ireland.
