What women's health issues are we still not talking about enough?

At this year's Ladies Lounge event, hosted by the Faculty of Nursing and Midwifery, RCSI and HSE Dublin and North East Region, we asked our expert speakers: "Which women's health issue do you think still isn't discussed enough?"

The answers highlight the importance of continuing conversations around women's health and ensuring that topics which have historically been overlooked receive the attention, awareness and support they deserve.

From menopause and mental health to cardiovascular health, reproductive health and chronic conditions, there is still work to be done to ensure women have access to the information, services and care they need throughout every stage of life.

🎥 Watch the video to hear directly from our speakers and learn more about the issues they believe deserve greater visibility and discussion.

Happy Pride! 🌈

The Faculty of Nursing and Midwifery, RCSI was proud to attend the Pride celebrations at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital yesterday.

Pride is an important opportunity to celebrate diversity, promote inclusion, and reaffirm our commitment to creating healthcare environments where everyone feels respected, valued and able to be themselves. Events such as these help foster a sense of belonging for staff, patients and the wider community.

Despite the threatening rain clouds, the atmosphere in the staff garden was full of energy and positivity, with live music, food, colourful Pride props, and special appearances from the Pride ambulance and Garda vehicles adding to the celebrations.

Congratulations to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital Nursing Louth Hospitals on hosting such a vibrant and inclusive event. We were delighted to join our clinical colleagues in celebrating Pride and strengthening connections with our nursing and midwifery community.

What happens when we start talking openly about women's health? Real change.

At this year's Ladies Lounge event, hosted by the Faculty of Nursing and Midwifery, RCSI and HSE Dublin and North East Region, we asked some of our expert speakers one simple but important question: Why is it so important to talk openly about women's health in Ireland?

From menopause and mental health to reproductive health, cardiovascular disease and endometriosis, open conversations help raise awareness, challenge stigma, improve understanding, and ultimately lead to better health outcomes for women.

In this video, our speakers share their perspectives on why these discussions matter and how continued education, advocacy and collaboration can help shape a healthier future for women across Ireland.
