This week, Griffith College welcomed our partners from the DIVERSE EU University Alliance to our Dublin campus.

As part of the visit, we hosted an Opera Gala in the Griffith College Conference Centre Auditorium on Wednesday evening, together with the Veronica Dunne International Singing Competition and the National Youth Orchestra of Ireland.

It was a wonderful night of music, shared with Presidents and senior leaders from partner universities across Europe. Thank you to the performers and to everyone who joined us.

Griffith College is a founding member of DIVERSE, a European University Alliance that brings together 12 universities from 11 countries and more than 150,000 students.

📍 Learning beyond the classroom!

Our MSc in Accounting and Finance learners taking the Business Consultancy module recently visited Ráth Chairn, Co. Meath, to conduct primary research for their Business Consultancy project with FORAOIS.

As a unique, planned Irish-speaking community and official Gaeltacht, Ráth Chairn offered students a valuable opportunity to gain first-hand insights and deepen their understanding to inform their consultancy project.

A big thank you to Suzanne Burdis, Programme Director, and Paula Byrne, Module Leader, for supporting this valuable learning experience.

Psychology in Action has wrapped up for 2026! 🧠

This morning, we welcomed secondary school students to Griffith College for a hands-on introduction to psychology. Students took part in a taster class with our Psychology faculty, explored practical experiments, and spoke with faculty members and past students to learn more about the course and student experience.

Events like these help students better understand what studying psychology involves and make more informed decisions about their CAO choices.

Thank you to everyone who joined us, and to our Psychology faculty for putting together such a hands-on morning.

It was a pleasure to welcome Barry McCarthy, a professional cricketer with Cricket Ireland, to speak with our MSc in Accounting & Finance learners as part of their Taxation module.

As a former ACCA ATX student, Barry shared valuable insights into why professional athletes need a strong understanding of taxation and financial matters, highlighting how this knowledge can support them during and beyond their sporting careers.

Adding an extra special connection to the session, Barry was also a former student of Paula Byrne, who guided him and shared expertise throughout his journey to complete his ACCA qualification.

It was fantastic for our learners to hear first-hand how accounting knowledge can translate into professional sport, and to see the impact education, mentorship, and professional development can have on a career journey.

A great afternoon of PR and communications insights! 📣

On Monday, we had the pleasure of welcoming Robert Farrell, Head of Training and Development at the Public Relations Institute of Ireland (PRII), who shared valuable advice on building a PR career.

We explored everything from finding opportunities in Ireland’s PR industry and the importance of networking and upskilling to how PRII can support professional development. Robert also shared insights into the annual PRII conference and the opportunities it provides for those looking to connect with and learn from the wider industry.

As a PRII-accredited programme, our MA in Public Relations & Digital Communications offers students the opportunity to join the PRII and attend its annual conference. Students can also take their academic research beyond the classroom, with the opportunity to present their MA dissertation findings as academic posters at the conference.

A great opportunity to combine academic learning, professional development and industry networking throughout the MA. 🎓📣
