• Picture framing is one of those ideas for a work-at-home enterprise that often begins as a part-time endeavour.

Happy Days !, I had my first two clients, in last Saturday, at my premises ! While it was not anything like 'perfect'.... it was really good to be back & starting to tell a 'story', that I know very well, about the picture framing 'game'. If I am honest with myself, I probably need to shut up more, and listen...... the problem is that I have so much to say, and so much information, and little 'nit bits' about picture framing that I want to share...... bring on next Saturday.

If you are looking for a hobby, that is NOT physically demanding, that is age-less, gender-less......... why not think of picture framing ?....... and also it might save you a 'ton' of money on the High Street.

What will the course cover?

During the day you will be taken through the whole process of designing, planning and making a frame for one of your own pictures. Although this is DIY framing, it is certainly not a "cobbled-together " solution and you will amaze yourself at the quality and dynamic, creative style you can achieve starting from scratch.

Are you feeling a little “down in the dumps,” anxious, or just flat out depressed? Can you identify the cause of your current mental state, or are you just in a rut?

Sometimes, adopting a new hobby or rediscovering a hobby we once enjoyed can provide the benefits needed to help get us out of our current funk.

Hobbies can provide us many benefits, other than just fun, such as:

Confidence: Some people struggle with the feeling that they aren’t good at anything, yet most of them haven’t tried many activities. So, how does one know if they aren’t good at something if they’ve never tried it? A finished quilt, a good golf score, a smile on a child’s face from volunteer work can all help you feel a little bit better about yourself.

Relationship Building: Did you know hobbies can ultimately lead you to your best friends in life, or even to romantic relationships? Oftentimes, in social situations, it is difficult for us to make “small talk.” However, when people of similar interests get together, there is always something to talk about!

Private Time: Not all hobbies have to be done with others, as some can just be individual hobbies. Individual hobbies are a great way to help you get to know yourself, and to offer you an opportunity for self-reflection. It doesn’t matter what your hobby is – it just matter that it is yours. Setting aside some time for yourself will allow you to relax, have fun, and distance yourself from anything that has been troubling you.

Stress Reducer: If you feel overworked, fatigued, stressed or just out of sorts, a hobby can be a great way to get back to feeling like yourself again. Whether a tennis match gives you the boost of energy you need, or writing a song or poem helps lift your spirit, hobbies are a great way to help you lower your stress levels.
