TOP DEFINITION
stir crazy
when you go nuts from sitting in one place too long, like when you get fidgety at the end of a 3 hour class. charicterized by repeating the same task over and over, fussing over everything, and percieving the clock as moving in slow motion.
i cant take this Red Alert anymore, I wish the snow would melt. I'm going stir crazy!
It looks like most shops in the City Centre plan to open by lunchtime. Cafe's are open now. Jervis & ILAC shopping Centres are open but most shops inside are still closed (Until noon).
Footpaths are wet and "mushy" but the City Council workers are finally out (5 days too late) clearing some of them for pedestrians.
Some Buses/Luas/trains are supposed to re-start at noon today Saturday, I have my doubts. Up here at College Green no efforts have been made yet to clear the Luas tracks.

Ghost-town Dublin as Alert to stay indoors is lifted.
We have been told that we can go outside again if it's safe in your area but......do you really want to!?
Today there is no public transport. No buses. No Luas. No DART or trains. So you can't really go anywhere.
All shops are closed except it seems for Londis. We have seen Londis O'Connell Street and Westmoreland Street open today. Useful if you need to buy food or even for a coffee etc.
The footpaths are not in good condition for walking on. The fresh snow on top of what was there yesterday is making them slippy and uneven.
Also in some places the snow is starting to melt which is making the paths very wet and again slippy. Parts of O'Connell Street are turning into a mini river! My feet are soaking even though I had waterproof boots on.
If you live in the suburbs near somewhere lovely like The Phoenix Park or Fairview then go out an enjoy the scenery and have a snowball fight while it lasts. Otherwise we recommend stay under the duvet or watch some movies! (Cinema's closed too )

From Henry Street & O'Connell Street this morning
Shops & Cafes.....
Bit early to say if the shops will open this morning, many won't.
If you need to buy food for home for the next few days, your only chance will be this morning, Tesco's, ALDI, supervalu are expected to open for the morning.
On the hunt for Coffee and a croissant! Most Starbucks are opening at 8am as it McDonalds, however almost all will close around lunch time.
Most shops we talked to on the way in this morning say they really don't know how long they'll open for this morning even at all (Pennys Mary street for example, Dealz), they'll be reviewing it hour by hour

Update 7:30AM
School is closed All day, Thursday 1st March and Friday 2nd March.
If you have to go to work this morning, be careful. The proper snow storm is only due to arrive this afternoon. The Government is telling everyone to stay indoors from 4pm Thursday until at least noon on Friday.
There are no Dublin Bus Services today.
Darts will stop by 2pm today. There are also various delays this mornings.
Similar on the LUAS
Currently (at 7:30am) there is some fresh snow on the footpaths but many of them still have compacted snow from yesterday which makes them slippy and uneven in places. Difficult to walk on!
If the Blizzard hits later, the biggest problem you will encounter (if you are not used to snow) is visability (seeing) . When the falling snow hits your eyes it can also hurt quite badly.
Basically listen to the advice and stay home if you can!
