In 🌟 Twinkle Stars 🌟 , the children enjoyed exploring the turf tray filled with crushed Weetabix and cars. They developed fine motor skills through scooping, pouring, and pushing the vehicles around. The different textures encouraged sensory exploration and curiosity through hands-on play. Using the cars supported imaginative play and language development as children created stories and talked about their play. This activity also helped improve focus, problem-solving, and emotional regulation in a fun and calming way.

In 🌟 Afterschool 🌟 the children have been learning all about birds. They explored different types of birds, looked at pictures and talked about features such as feathers, wings and beaks.

As part of the activity, the children used craft materials to create their very own birds. They carefully chose colourful feathers, sticks, paper and pens to design unique creations inspired by the birds they had been learning about.

The activity encouraged creativity, fine motor skills and imaginative thinking. The children were excited to share their birds with their friends and enjoyed discussing which birds their creations looked like.

In 🌟 Shining Stars 🌟 the children enjoyed a creative craft activity where they made pizzas using paper plates, glue and a variety of loose materials to represent toppings. They explored their imagination by choosing and arranging different shapes, colours and textures to design their own unique pizzas. This activity supported fine motor development as the children practised picking up, placing and sticking small items. It also encouraged creativity, decision-making and communication as they talked about their pizzas and shared ideas with friends. Working together at the table helped to build social skills, turn-taking and confidence in expressing themselves.

In 🌟 Raising Stars 🌟 the children explored a fun farm-themed sensory and literacy activity using interactive books, farm animal puppets, toy animals and sensory materials. They looked through farm story books, matched pictures and used their fingers to explore different textures and objects. The children used toy farm animals and loose parts to create their own farm scenes while developing imaginative play and communication skills. This activity encouraged the children to work together, take turns and talk about the different animals and sounds found on the farm. The experience supported early language, fine motor development, sensory exploration, social interaction and creativity in a playful and engaging way.

In 🌟 Raising Stars 🌟 the children enjoyed a variety of bird-themed activities that supported their creativity, fine motor skills, and physical development. They used playdough and dry pasta to create bird nests, carefully shaping and arranging materials to strengthen hand muscles and coordination. The children also explored art and imagination by making pictures of birds using colourful feathers and drawing materials, encouraging self-expression and observation skills. During the yoga bird exercises, children practised balancing, stretching, and moving their bodies in different bird poses, helping to improve concentration, flexibility, and body awareness. These activities also promoted communication, teamwork, and an understanding of nature through fun, hands-on learning experiences

In 🌟 Shining Stars 🌟 the children enjoyed a fun dinosaur rescue activity using celotape and toy dinosaurs on the tuff tray.
The children carefully took the tape from the tray to rescue and free the dinosaurs from different tricky situations.
The activity helped develop their fine motor skills, hand control, and concentration.
The children also used their imagination while talking about the dinosaurs and creating stories.
Everyone had lots of fun learning through play and teamwork during the activity.

This week in 🌟 Twinkle Stars 🌟 the children enjoyed taking part in a fun Teddy Bear Picnic activity with their favourite teddies and friends. The picnic encouraged social interaction, communication, and turn-taking as the children shared food, toys, and conversations together. Role play helped to develop imagination and language skills while building confidence in group settings. Sitting together in a calm circle also supported listening skills, friendships, and a sense of belonging within the group. The activity provided a warm and enjoyable learning experience that promoted emotional, social, and creative development.

In 🌟 Afterschool 🌟 , the children enjoyed learning all about hedgehogs through creative playdough modelling and fork painting art activities. Making playdough hedgehogs helped to strengthen fine motor skills, hand coordination, and creativity as the children shaped and decorated their own creations. The fork art activity encouraged sensory exploration and introduced different textures and painting techniques in a fun and engaging way. Working together also supported communication, sharing, and confidence while discussing their ideas and designs. These hands-on activities provided a wonderful opportunity for imaginative learning while developing important early childhood skills.

Today the children in Afterschool used their imaginations and creativity to design and draw their very own planets!

The children explored what life in space might look like and filled their planets with exciting ideas including dinosaurs, aliens, astronauts, rockets, moons, stars and lots of other space creatures. Each planet was completely unique, with different colours, landscapes and imaginative features. Some children created planets with friendly aliens and giant dinosaurs, while others designed magical worlds with glowing stars and astronauts exploring space.

The children loved sharing their creations with the group and talking about what made their planet special. This activity encouraged creativity, communication, storytelling and imaginative play, while also supporting fine motor skills.

The children also worked together as a team to complete a planet puzzle, promoting teamwork and cooperation in a fun and engaging way.
