We are having a “Mobilising na Mic Léinn Infodump Night” today from 6 to 8pm!

You are invited to give a short presentation on one of your favourite topics – who knows, you might get someone else in the group interested in your hyperfixation!

The event will be hybrid, it will be held in Arts Block Room 3106 as well as online!

This event is wheelchair accessible and sensory-friendly. Refreshments will be provided, but feel free to bring your own if that’s more comfortable, but please bear other people’s allergies in mind! Please fill in the Disability Accommodation Request Form linked on our story if you have any other needs so we can try to accommodate your needs.

We interviewed para-athlete and former Trinity student Melanie Griffith about her journey to becoming involved in para-sports, the accessibility obstacles she has faced along the way and how to make sports more accessible to everyone.

The video is up on our YouTube channel now, you can watch it through the link on our story!

Thank you for doing this interview with us and telling us about your story 💜
Thank you for the videography 🤍

July is Disability Pride Month, with this year’s theme being “We Belong Here, and We’re Here to Stay” 🖤❤️💛🤍💙💚

Disability Pride Month celebrates the identity, culture, and contributions of the disability community. It’s about visibility, empowerment, and challenging ableism.

Why July? Because the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) was signed on July 26, 1990 - a landmark moment for disability rights!

The Disability Pride flag, designed by Ann Magill, features:
- a black background, representing mourning for victims of ableist violence
-a diagonal band, symbolising breaking down barriers that separate disabled people from society
-five colored stripes, representing different disability categories.
red ❤️- physical disabilities
yellow 💛- neurodiversity
white 🤍- invisible and undiagnosed disabilities
blue 💙- emotional and psychiatric disabilities
green 💚- sensory disabilities

You can celebrate this month by sharing your story or connecting with and empowering the voices of people with disabilities in your life and online, not just during Disability Pride Month but all year long 🤍🤍

If you’re a disability advocate who wants to go even further in your advocacy, here are some resources to learn about disability history and culture, and to advocate for disability rights and inclusion:

Happy T-Ball Day folks! Just a friendly reminder to not be bumpin’ that in the accessible toilets tonight 😌 In the case of an emergency, please take note of the medical stations located at the Nassau Street and Westland Row entrances, and of the welfare area in the Exam Hall. Be safe, be aware, and most of all: have fun! 🪩🕺

‘Now You See Me’ campaign launch part 2 🎉

Thank you to everyone who came to our poster campaign event last Friday! We had a great time reintroducing the concept of our campaign and discussing each of the posters with our guests. The Ability Co_op also signed our new Constitution; our first step in the process of becoming an official Disabled Persons’ Organisation (DPO) under the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UNCRPD).

We are all very proud of our wonderful committee for all their hard work on this project, and we were delighted to celebrate its success with you all! If you missed the event, be sure to check out our newly installed ‘Now You See Me’ mural at the entrance of the disAbility Hub!

Many thanks to our amazing photographer .quinn17 who captured the event 🌟
