Marking 30 years since the publication of Michael Cronin’s “Translating Ireland,” this international symposium brings together scholars from Ireland, Europe, Canada, and the US to explore the powerful force of translation in shaping literature, language, culture, and identity.

We’re still thinking about our SP ‘26 retreat in Connemara last weekend!

ft. the Sacred Heart at Doughruagh, Mass at the Henry family Chapel, and some rainless moments in Ireland

On their way to , our Spring ‘26 Dublin Domers hiked the Máméan pilgrim path. Their journey concluded at a small altar dedicated to St. Patrick, who concluded his ministry in the West of Ireland here before he returned to Ulster.

This site served as an important Mass Rock during the time of the Penal Laws, where Catholics would meet for the celebration of Mass in secret.

The students concluded their hike just before a snow storm descended on Connemara, a rare sight in Ireland!

This landmark documentary on the life and legacy of Daniel O’Connell is written and directed by 𝗥𝗨Á𝗡 𝗠𝗔𝗚𝗔𝗡, narrated by 𝗗𝗢𝗠𝗛𝗡𝗔𝗟𝗟 𝗚𝗟𝗘𝗘𝗦𝗢𝗡, and produced by Create One, in association with the 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗡𝗼𝘁𝗿𝗲 𝗗𝗮𝗺𝗲 , 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗿𝗸 , and 𝗥𝗧É , with the support of the Government of Ireland’s 𝗗𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗖𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲, 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 and the 𝗗𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝗲𝗶𝗴𝗻 𝗔𝗳𝗳𝗮𝗶𝗿𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗲 .

will host the Dublin premiere of 𝘿𝘼𝙉𝙄𝙀𝙇 𝙊’𝘾𝙊𝙉𝙉𝙀𝙇𝙇: 𝙏𝙃𝙀 𝙀𝙈𝘼𝙉𝘾𝙄𝙋𝘼𝙏𝙊𝙍 on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, before the documentary airs on RTÉ 1 on December 28, 2025.

Further screenings, educational events, and discussions are planned in Ireland, Europe, and the United States throughout 2026 as a part of the University of Notre Dame’s .global Global Network.
