We are delighted to announce that bookings are now open for our Alto School of Music Easter Camps 2026, taking place at Wesley House.

This year we are offering two programmes designed to support children at different stages of their musical journey.

🌱 Music Explorers Camp (Ages 5–8)

A playful and engaging introduction to music where children explore instruments, rhythm, singing and creative musical activities in a supportive environment.

No previous experience needed.

⸻

🎼 Young Creators Camp (Ages 8–12)

A more in-depth musical experience focusing on songwriting, ensemble playing, creativity and performance skills.

Suitable for children who already play an instrument — students are encouraged to bring their instrument to participate fully in group activities.

🗓 Week 1: 30 March – 3 April
🗓 Week 2: 7 April – 10 April

🕙 Camp hours: 10am – 2pm
⏰ Early drop-off from 9am available

Spaces are limited to ensure small group learning and a supportive atmosphere.

Today is the last day of music lessons before we take a well-deserved holiday break! 🎶

🎅 Alto School of Music will be closed starting December 21st and will resume lessons on January 6th.

We hope you all enjoy a magical holiday season filled with love, joy, and plenty of music! 🎹🎸🎤 Take this time to relax, recharge, and maybe even practice a little to keep those skills sharp. 😉

Ancient Roots
The guitar has been around for over 4,000 years, with early versions appearing in ancient Egypt and Mesopotamia.

The “King of Instruments”
The piano is often called the "King of Instruments" because it has the largest range of notes of any instrument, spanning 88 keys!

Over 12,000 Parts
A piano is incredibly complex, with over 12,000 individual parts, and around 10,000 of them are moving pieces!

Not a String Instrument?
Although the piano has strings, it’s technically classified as a percussion instrument because the sound is made by hammers striking the strings.

Longest Note
A note on a piano can sustain for up to 45 seconds when the sustain pedal is used, depending on the quality of the instrument.

Invented in Italy
The modern piano was invented by Bartolomeo Cristofori in Italy around 1700.

World's Largest Piano
The world’s largest piano is over 18 feet long and weighs more than 1 ton. It was created by Adrian Mann in New Zealand.

Heavyweight Champion

Drums are found in every culture around the world, making them a universal symbol of rhythm and connection.

World’s Largest Drum
The largest drum in the world, called the "Great Drum," is in South Korea and stands over 18 feet tall!

Fastest Drummer
The fastest recorded drumming speed is over 1,200 single strokes in 60 seconds. That’s 20 strokes per second!

Drumming Burns Calories
Playing the drums for an hour can burn as many calories as running—up to 600 calories per session! Great for fitness and fun!

Heartbeat Connection
