Abacas Kilnamanagh

Today was a truly special day as we celebrated Communion and Confirmation with our children in Abacas Special School.

This beautiful celebration was only possible because of the kindness, generosity and support of so many wonderful people. From the beautiful choir of 5th and 6th class girls from St Kevin’s GNS, to Marie Barrett’s beautiful personalised bows, the guidance of Sr Liz, the lovely ceremony by Fr Frank, and the incredible efforts of Annette, the parish team, Edel Greene, and everyone who helped with flowers, decorations, refreshments, baking and all the little details!

We are so grateful to be surrounded by such a caring and supportive community. Today was a reminder that it truly takes a village, and what an amazing village we have.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this milestone so special for our children and their families. ❤️🙏✨

Passing on the Mug and some treats to more of our amazing staff over the past few weeks. Christian, Michelle, Niamh and Alana all were "mugged" in recognition of the fantastic work they do, the support they provide to our children and their colleagues.

We are very lucky to have some of the most amazing staff that go above and beyond for our school community.

What a lovely day at Killeen Golf Club for our Annual Golf Classic.

Huge credit to Susan Kennedy and Eoin Kennedy, who have poured their heart and soul into creating such an amazing event year after year. The number of golfers returning each year is a true testament to the care, effort, and dedication Sue and Eoin put into making the day so special.

From the early starts behind the scenes, to making everyone feel so welcome and continually giving back to our school community, their commitment is simply unbelievable.

It was wonderful to have the opportunity to speak with so many people who were genuinely interested in hearing about our school, our staff, our students, and the incredible work happening every day within our community. To have people travelling from abroad to take part says it all.

Sue and Eoin quietly organise this event each year expecting nothing in return, doing it all for the children and for the school. 👏

A heartfelt thank you also to their incredible army of supporters, sponsors and golfers. Without you, days like this would not be possible.

There is so much kindness in this world, and days like today are a beautiful reminder of that. ⛳️🎟❤️👏🎉

📢🎉What an amazing achievement by and Martin McDermott, who organised a fundraising hike to support our school bus fundraiser!

McDermott Mastics sponsored all associated costs with the event and their hard work has seen them raise €16,022.58 for our school!

This was not just about the funds raised it was about coming together as a group to complete a challenge in recognition of the amazing work our staff and our school community do.
