- Thank You 🩷
Yesterday was the last class of the Winter Term in Lusk and I just wanted to thank you.
I set this class up a couple of years back, with 2-3 people showing up every week. Fast forward to today, I am teaching in a bigger room and some of the classes were actually booked out!
I am beyond grateful and wanted to thank each and every one of you, whether you came once or have been coming since the very beginning, your presence means a lot to me. Seeing you guys practice, progress and chat before and after class fills my heart and convinces me that I'm making a difference.

From the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU! I wouldn't be doing this without your support.

- What to expect in my classes?
I tried to summarise this in five words:
🟡 Intention
🟢 Modifications
🔵 Goal
🟣 Safe-space
⚪️ Experiment

In my opinion, yoga is accessible to everyone, not matter your age, flexibility, range of motion... we can all benefit from breathing more conscienciously, moving with purpose, stretching it out.
That's what I am trying to bring to each class, not showing off but showing up for yourself again and again.

If that's your philosophy too, I invite you to try any of my classes (you can even get a free trial in Lusk and Swords)

See you soon ☀️

- Crow Prep 🐦‍⬛
Three things to focus on when getting ready for bakasana (crow pose)
1. Hips opening and engagement: any variation of malasana works here, I'd add some inner thighs engagement by pushing the knees to the arms and the arms to the knees
2. Shoulder strength: half-chaturanga or chaturanga, dolphin is also an option
3. Core work: navasana is my favourite because it also focuses on balance. Any variation works here, and you can even add movement

Start by lifting one foot and the other and maybe both. The knees placement is also important, start with the knees outside the arms and squeeze them in, while the arms are pushing them out.

Hope that helps 😉

- Plank to Chaturanga transition 💪🏻
This is a hard one, if I'm being fully honest it took me a long time to get it. There is so much happening: core strong and stable, elbows in, legs squeezing together, lowering down slowly and with control...
So, for as long as you need it, come down on your knees first so the chest lowers in one block. Use a block to avoid going too low and play a bit, going down and up in some kind of push-ups. Or move through Ashtangasana is also an option...

- Drgaon Variations 🐉
Focus on this Yin Yoga pose that is a strong hip opener. We're stretching the back hip flexors and compressing the front hip.
There are many ways to use props here: bolster or blocks below the elbows or the head, bolster to support the back hip if the flexor muscles are tight.

My favourite? The 5th and the last, depending on the day 😊
Let me know yours 👇🏼

- Breakdown ➡️ Downdog to Low Lunge
This is not an easy transition as it requires some flexibility and compression of the thigh towards the belly.
Here are a couple of tips:
● round the top of the back to create a dome as you come forward
○ hug your knee as close to your chest as possible, imagine you want to hold a tennis ball between the knee and chest
● step your foot as close to your hands
○ grab your ankle to bring the foot forward
As you keep on practicing this, the foot will come closer to the hands.
Another good thing to try is using block below the hands to bring your shoulders and chest higher and step the foot closer to the top of the mat.

Hope this helps 🤞🏻
