We soaked up all the sun while it lasted ☀️⛅️
Trips to the playground, parks and plenty of strolls in the sun, but we still incorporated our goals through natural environment teaching, such a fantastic way to teach through everyday experiences 🥰

Sensory play
Embedded throughout our group time, all our little learners were fully engaged in our sensory play stations, helping them regulate and enhance their senses which helps with focus and increased attention during their 1.1 session’s

Visual supports are highly important in early intervention. All of our students have a detailed IEP with key visuals to support their learning should they need to use them - depending on the child some may be encouraged to use them to ask for a break or to make a choice.
Visual schedules can be used at home as well-
because they help young children understand routines, expectations, and communication in a clear and consistent way.
Many children learn more effectively through visual information and this is even more important when they have communication difficulties.
Tools such as visual schedules, choice boards, pictures, and first/then boards can reduce anxiety (you could have a calendar visual schedule for example for an upcoming event etc).
Visual supports also encourage communication, strengthen attention and participation, and help children transition more successfully between activities. We would frequently use a “first-then” to help children anticipate what is coming next. When used consistently, they create a more structured and supportive learning environment that promotes confidence and positive behaviour ✨

Some snapshots of what we have been up to the last few months while I have been quiet on here a lot has been happening in the background between daily teaching and play, to wider trips in the community visiting play centres, role play an horse riding 🥰
Over the past few months, we’ve seen such meaningful progress across all areas of development. With consistent routines and individualised, evidence-based strategies, children who once found routine challenging are now confidently engaging and enjoying it within just 3–4 months.
A lot of our little learners who arrived with little to no expressive communication are now functionally communicating their needs with minimal prompting — a powerful example of how early intervention makes a difference. These are just some examples of the amount of progress we see everyday, which is so rewarding and keeps us going 🥹
Every child deserves the right support to reach their fullest potential 💛
