Seachtain na Gaeilge atá ann! It’s a great time to cover Irish folklore in the classroom. The Salmon of Knowledge is one of our favourites, so we’ve made a stained-glass art lesson inspired by it!

This is relatively mess-free, as the main medium used is felt-tip pens. It can also be easily adaptable to whatever stories or topics you’re doing with the class.

Using the theme of spring can be a great way to integrate subject, and is a great excuse to get the kids out in nature. Here are three different ways to incorporate the new season into music, art and drama 💡

These ideas are all available under ‘Spring’ on our Themes Section, available to teachers using all three of our programmes, but they’re also up on our blog, now - link in bio for a nosey 👀

If you’re planning on marking Black History Month in your classroom in February, introducing your class to Laolu Senbajo’s artwork could be a great way to do it 🙌

Senbajo was a human rights lawyer in Nigeria, before moving to America to pursue a career in art. His work uses lots of colour and different types of lines, inspired by traditional patterns and folklore from West Africa.

This lesson is a great way for younger classes to build up their art vocabulary about different types of lines, whilst also giving them a chance to express themselves through their own Senbajo-inspired works.

You can find the full lesson plan on our blog, now - link in bio!

‘What are you doing?’ is a brilliant warm-up game to play with the class, before getting into your drama lesson. It’ll activate their imaginations, their active listening, and help them move from ‘desk’ to ‘doing’.

This game can be adapted to match whatever themes you might be covering in lessons, too - anything from historical periods and places, to seasons and holidays.

This game is from our Free Trial - You can find it, along with so many more resources for your drama, music and art classes at the link in our bio. Enjoy!
