We are incredibly proud of all the boys and girls who have been with us since the day we opened.

We are so sad to see you leave, and we will miss each and every one of you. It has been an absolute privilege to watch you grow, learn and become the amazing children you are today.

You all have such bright futures ahead of you, and we wish you every happiness and success as you begin your next adventure. We look forward to welcoming some of you back as after-schoolers, and to those moving on, please know that you will always hold a very special place in our hearts.

We are so proud of you all. Keep smiling, keep learning and always believe in yourselves! 💛

Today, we took a little time to show our appreciation for three very special members of our team — Pankaj, Ben and Tatiana. 💐

Pankaj, our Butterfly Room Leader, works alongside Ben and Tatiana, and together they make a truly fantastic team.

With an incredible 31+ years of combined experience working with children, they bring so much knowledge, care, patience and dedication to the Butterfly Room every single day.

We are incredibly lucky to have such experienced and committed people as part of our team, and today was our opportunity to simply say thank you for everything you do for the children, their families and for all of us at SmartStart. ❤️

Dear Parents,

With the weather set to get increasingly hot over the next few days, we’ll be making the most of it with lots of fun water play and outdoor activities in shaded areas.

To help keep everyone comfortable, we kindly ask that each child brings:

* Spare changes of clothes
* A sun hat
* Sun cream (clearly labelled if not already left at the service)
* A refillable water bottle

Our priority is to keep all of the children safe, cool and comfortable while still allowing them to enjoy the lovely weather. We’ll ensure regular drinks, plenty of time in the shade, and lots of water-based activities to help everyone stay cool.

To all parents,

We understand that it is inconvenient to be asked to collect your child due to the current heat. However, the health, safety, and wellbeing of the children in our care must always come first, and these decisions are made in their best interests.

While we appreciate that this may cause disruption, we will not tolerate any member of our staff being spoken to in an abusive or disrespectful manner. Our team is simply following procedures to ensure the safety and welfare of every child.

If you have any concerns or wish to discuss a decision, please contact me directly. I am more than happy to speak with you. However, I ask that our staff are treated with the respect and courtesy they deserve.

🌍 Host Families Wanted for International Students – Mid July to Early August 🌍

Would you be interested in hosting an international student for 2–3 weeks this summer?

Host families are paid €210 per student, per week. If you have a room suitable for two students (each student must have their own bed), that’s €420 per week. A room suitable for three students would earn €630 per week.

All that’s required is:
✅ Continental breakfast each morning
✅ Packed lunch (sandwich, snack, crisps and water)
✅ Evening meal

Students attend organised activities Monday to Saturday and are generally away for most of the day. Sundays are free days, and many students choose to spend time with their new friends exploring the local area.

Hosting is a fantastic opportunity to welcome a different culture into your home, make lifelong memories, and help young people experience Ireland.

As someone who has hosted students myself, I can honestly say it’s an amazing experience. My son is an only child, and hosting gave him the opportunity to meet people from different countries and cultures. We’ve hosted both short-term students and students who stayed with us for a full year, and every experience has been incredibly rewarding.
