🎉🇫🇷HAPPY BASTILLE DAY🇫🇷🎉
"Bonne Fête Nationale"

Known in France quite simply as “le quatorze juillet”, a reference to the date on which it is held. July 14 became an official national holiday in 1880 to commemorate key turning points in French history.

It was the day the French Revolution established the way that France functions today. La Bastille was a prison in Paris, which the revolutionaries stormed to free prisoners on 14th July 1789.

🎉🇫🇷Today France celebrates its fête nationale every year with fireworks, concerts and an fabulous military parade down the Champs-Élysées in the presence of the president, politicians and quite often a foreign head of state as an honoured guest. There are also lots of French flags on display - the flag being the symbol of the new republic.

As well as learning how to speak with the correct pronunciation, with our programmes, we also make it a priority for pupils to learn all about the fantastic culture, festivals, landmarks, regions, food and rich history of both France and Spain. This prepares and shows our students how diverse and wonderful the world is. Bastille Day is just one of the many events we touch upon🎉

As some of you may know, I speak French and I have been thinking of incorporating the French language in Cheeky Dodos. You might have noticed the French nursery rhymes in my playlist 😁🇨🇵

Would you like to see fun classes for your babies and toddlers where they'll be introduced to a new language through music, story telling, puppets, games and more?
