Inspired by the book Underestimated, the new full-length documentary SPELLERS challenges conventional wisdom regarding a group relegated to society’s margins: nonspeakers with autism, who most “experts” believe are cognitively disabled. As the film opening asks, “What if we’ve been wrong…about every single one of them?”

Hi Families,

If you have an hour to spare this Thursday evening and could make it to Ratoath, Co. Meath (just north-west of Dublin), you would enjoy watching the journey of non-speaking (AKA non-verbal) autistic individuals as they develop the motor skills required to communicate fully and openly using AAC devices (letterboards, keyboards and tablets).

Spellers - the Movie is being shown (for free) at The Venue, Ratoath Theatre @ 19:00 this Thursday, 15th June.
