Really enjoyed our community bioblitz at the biodiversity garden with the tidy towns group last Saturday. We took the oportunity to observe and record the wild and cultivated flora and insects and up skilled ourselves with some citizen science using the FIT (flowers insects timed) app and the recording tool online .

These records will be uploaded now by volunteers and captured over a number of different times during the next 12 months.
Thanks to everyone who came and look forward to the next one!

Not sure ive managed to capture all the goings on thus last two weeks but we have been busy bees alright ! These snippets are from our polytunnel workshop last Saturday where members and participants were able to join us for a morning packed with information about family size polytunnels .

We looked at costs involved, structures , extending the season , wind , frost and what to grow when. Participants exchanged tips , tricks and experiences which is exactly what the membership program was designed for and we are seeing true interaction with people who are coming back month after month to learn and grow. Absolutely delighted!

Next month is all about mulching , water and irrigation solutions for your garden. This workshop will take place on Saturday 27th June and people are advised to book early.

Had the best time with the Cara House Family Resource Centre womens shed group recently , starting in the colder months indoors with theory based classes and then moving outdoors for practical work at the Letterkenny Community Gardens. Huge thanks to Breda for all her support and the all important tea !! Wishing all the growers a great growing season ahead !!

What an incredible day we had last Friday hosting our Biodiversity Farm Walk with Talamh Beo!

We opened up our garden and growing areas to a wonderful group of passionate people and together, we dived nto the interconnected world of Plant Diversity, Soil Health andPollinator Havens.

The real magic was the vibrant conversation, shared knowledge, and community spirit that flowed throughout the day. A massive thank you to everyone who came out, asked fantastic questions, and shared their own insights.
