A huge milestone for Áiseanna na hÓige today with Minister Foley visiting the centre to announce that we have been officially recognised as a Family Resource Centre.
Not only does this bring certainty to our core funding and the future of service provision for generations to come but it will allow us to improve and extend our services.
The centre was established 20 years ago by a voluntary board of management, some whom have passed but live on in legacy of the centre.
Cllr. Seamus Cosaí Fitzgerald, still sits on our board as a director today- 20 years on from securing the site and building.
A huge thank you to each member of our voluntary board who dedicate their time to the cause- our services could not run without the work of these people in the background.
The biggest thank you to each of our staff, our colleagues in Mol an Óige & Naoinra an Daingean and all our community partners.
Our biggest thank you has to go to our manager Fiona, the driving force that keeps our centre going everyday, she is the glue that keeps our team together.
The people of Áiseanna na hÓige are at the very heart of our services.
Thank you to our parents and children who have come and will come through our doors for years to come- this is for you.
Thanks to our local representative Breandan Fitzgerald for always supporting us, Daniel McCarty and Minister Norma Foley - TD and Child and Family Agency - Tusla who have supported our work- with special thanks to Ann Moynihan and Breda Lynch who have been central in the establishment, development and continuation of our family support services.
The work is never done, we are just getting started, watch this space 🗺 💪
