aris was founded by Ray Fitzgerald and other former colleagues on 'the Mall' following a well attended meeting at The Imperial Hotel on 2nd October 1981.

Ray, a member and lifelong supporter of The Insurance Institute of Cork, wanted to ensure that old contacts and friendships were not lost. aris is an autonomous organisation within the Insurance Institute movement and operates under the auspices of The Insurance Institute of Cork. It acknowledges and appreciates the ongoing financial and technical support provided by The Insurance Institute of Ireland.

Summer greetings to all our members.

We are delighted to confirm that 22 members are booked in for our Cork Harbour Cruise on Thursday 7th July, meeting at 1.45 pm for a 2.00 pm departure.

For those who have not already booked, please note the final date to reserve your place is Friday next 30th June, by contacting Ger Dowling, 086- 2468155.

Departure is from Custom House Quay, T12YC81, directly across from the boardwalk area on Lapps Quay. Please note parking is not allowed in the Custom House Quay area of departure. It is advisable therefore to allow for sufficient time to avail of the nearby city centre park and pay facilities.

In the event of a bad weather forecast, it may be necessary to reschedule the trip to a future date. However, the long-term forecast reveals a high of 23 degrees Celcius on the day, which suggests Factor 50 all the way.

Looking forward to seeing you on the Cailin Oir ferry.
