Today in camp children took on a STEM challenge. They had to make a catapult that would project a pom pom. They had to predict the distance and then compared measurements 📏

We had a jam packed day today at our school Literacy and Numeracy Camp. Today children enjoyed an obstacle course and team games, discussed gratitude and did some beautiful art work. We are looking forward are looking forward to our week ahead 🤍

Yesterday we celebrated the retirement of an incredible Special Needs Assistant Evelyn who has made such a lasting difference in the lives of so many children in St Mary’s on the Hill NS 💙🤍

Your kindness, patience and compassion has touched countless hearts over the years.

The Summer Reading Challenge is on in Hollyhill Library📕📖📚. All you have to do to complete the challenge is to read 9 books! Everytime you read 3 books you receive a prize🏆. Pop into the library and enquire at the desk to get more information on how to get involved.

Third Class had a wonderful final week of school enjoying lots of fun activities with their friends. They celebrated with a pizza party and cooled down with tasty ice cream. The children got creative making paper mâché ice cream cones, had great fun blowing bubbles outdoors, and made their own sandwiches. They also took part in an exciting art workshop. A week filled with special memories to finish the school year. 🍦🫧☀️🍦🫧☀️

We held our end of year attendance awards this morning! We had so many children to congratulate on their full or near full attendance. We also had some very proud parents who also accepted rewards for their diligence, sending their children to school every day this year👏👏.Every day counts📚🎓✏️

🐷✨The Farm - Junior Infants✨🐷
Miss Mc Auliffe’s class had lots of fun learning about nature and life on the farm recently. Junior Infants embarked on a tour of “The Farm Grenagh” where they met lots of friendly farm animals, explored the fairy gardens and took a tractor ride with Farmer Mick🚜👩🏻‍🌾. In our classroom, we made homemade butter from cream and enjoyed tasting our delicious creation on crackers - yum🐮🥛. The boys and girls explored Plant Life when speaking to a local Horticulturist and planted their very own sunflower seeds🌻🐝.
