What an amazing last week we've had in Montessori 2! A huge thank you to Terence for a fascinating visit to our classroom on Monday. Terence told us all about life in the army, showed us some of the exercises that soldiers have to do to keep fit and gave everyone a gift bag. The children were thrilled and really enjoyed the talk and some have decided they want to be soldiers when they grow up! A massive thank you also to Billy for an amazing morning of games, fun and fitness on Tuesday. The children had great fun learning lots of different types of exercises and stretches and the importance of keeping fit and healthy. We all had great laughs and the potato and spoon and the sack races were a big hit with everyone! Thanks again Billy for a brilliant day! On Wednesday, we all enjoyed our Teddy Bear picnic in the glorious sun and had a beautiful last day together filled with fun, laughter and a few tears. We will miss each and every one of you. Thank you so much for a wonderful year. It has been a privilege getting to know you and your families and to have been a part of your early years chapter. Wishing you all the best of luck and happiness in the next chapter of your childhood journey. ❤️😘

Congratulations to all the children in Montessori 2 on their graduation. Thank you to everyone who came along yesterday to celebrate this happy and emotional occasion with us. What a wonderful year we've had together building happy memories that we will cherish forever. We are so proud of each and every one of you. You came to us as shy little caterpillars and you have grown and blossomed into beautiful butterflies. Fly high and continue to grow with love and kindness! We will miss you ❤️.

We've had a very busy and exciting weekend in Montessori 2. We enjoyed a lovely visit to Scoil Mhártín where we got to play with lots of new toys and listened to a story all about Jungle animals. We have also been busy preparing for our Graduation ceremony, practicing the songs we chose together and making some special keepsakes. On Friday, we had fun making some healthy and delicious pizzas!

A parent has kindly donated a selection of boys clothing which is available in ABC to anyone who would like them. Clothing labels are aged 6-7 but would suit 5-6 years old. Some items are from Next, Zara and Marks and Spencer. The items include sweatshirts, long sleeve t-shirts, short sleeve t-shirts, joggers and pyjamas.
All items will be left inside the front door, so please feel free to have a look and collect from there.

This week we made the most of the fantastic weather and spent most of our days outside! We used water and tent play to cool down and had our lunches each day in the shade. Montessori 2 conducted an ‘animal rescue’ mission when they found a rabbit teddy who had been lost in the bushes for some time. They worked together to wash him and care for him until he was back to full health and named him John - fostering qualities like kindness and empathy and learning about caring for animals properly. The children have requested they take turns to bring him home for the month of June!

We had great fun this week in M2 learning all about caterpillars and butterflies. We painted butterfly pasta for our tuff tray and had lots of fun scooping and pouring it during the week. We drew caterpillars and coloured them in. We read "The Very Hungry Caterpillar" and played a game feeding the caterpillar all his favourite foods. We learned all about the lifecycle of the butterfly and a new butterfly song. We also enjoyed painting and making beautiful butterflies.

What a fantastic time we had today on our school tour to Tír na Sí. We had a lovely time exploring the farm and saw cats, donkeys, ponies, deer, pigs, goats, llamas, chickens and more! The children also found some cute little fairy doors! Everyone had so much fun and we made so many magical memories today. Thank you to all the parents, teachers, and especially to all the children for making the day so special. Thank you also to the bus driver who enjoyed listening to "The Wheels on the Bus" all the way home! 😁

This week one of the children in Montessori 2 brought in a ladybird to show to all of their friends🐞. Everyone was so fascinated by our cute little visitor and wanted to learn more about them. We learned lots of interesting and fun facts about ladybirds (did you know that they eat 5,000 aphids a day and smell with their antenna feet?!) We read "What the ladybird heard" and enjoyed a sensory activity based on the story. The children used their painting, stamping, gluing and cutting skills to make their own ladybirds and practiced their writing skills by drawing circles on ladybirds and writing their own names.
