ECCE/NCS Our aim is to provide a high quality outdoor preschool experience working mainly with the standards of the Steiner Waldorf Early Years Curriculum, we use the principles of the National Quality Framework for Early Childhood Education and ‘Siolta’ as quality guidelines and the Themes of the Early Childhood Curriculum Framework ‘Aistear’ as curriculum guidelines. In our Kindergarten the natural learning strategies of children are valued, such as learning through multi-sensory activities, play, social interaction and individual investigation. We recognise Play is a central vehicle for such learning, allowing children to imitate adult behaviours, practice motor skills, process emotional events, and develop understandings about their worlds. We practice a pedagogy that starts from the interests, experiences and choices of young children with a strong emphasis on family involvement and outdoor play in all weather. Our Kindergarten is a sessional playschool, open 5 days a week, 38 weeks every year and is registered for the ECCE Free Preschool scheme. Our morning Kindergarten operates from 9.00am to 12.30pm every day. We also run a second Kindergarten session in the afternoon from 1.30pm to 5pm
