Hey guys!
Here's a little snippet of what I hope to do if you choose me as your VP of Welfare ๐
04/03/2019
Happening now in the main corridor, Iโm handing out motivational packs from 12-2pm. Start your week on a positive note!
Mondays are the beginning of a new week and can be an opportunity to start afresh. I also know that they can be quite difficult. So just as a little pick me up, be sure to come by the desk and grab your little 'positivity parcel'! I'll also be giving out warm smiles and free hugs๐
This is just a snippet of my campaign around Positive Well-being.
Let's start our week on a positive note!
And remember, Thursday is the day to use your vote! So make sure to vote for your girl ๐ !
To me people are important. I believe that everyone has something to bring to the table. Some of us just need a hand to figure out what that is. As a final year Social Care student, I have been given the privilege to work with people from all walks of life, not only in my placement settings but also in CIT. I have had the honour of being a Peer Assisted Learning Support Mentor, a Good Start Ambassador over the last 2 years and also a Class Rep for the past 2 years. There are many aspects to working with people, but I have found that the two most important areas when partnering with people are 1) Advocacy and 2) Empowerment. Being an advocate for you means reiterating that you have a voice. Empowering you means helping you to see that you have what it takes and are more than capable!
If you choose me as your VP of Welfare, I plan to advocate on your behalf to the best of my ability. I plan to make sure that your voice is heard when it comes to expressing your concerns around issues such as lack of resting space, students not getting paid on placement etc. Not only will I hear you out but I will also push for change. I plan to help provide you with the tools you need to Live Your Best Life! Whether that be through Well-being Workshops, or Healthier Food options on campus, I want to help you become the best you and to get the most out of your next college year.
If this sounds like something you want from your Vice President of Welfare, then be sure to vote Dami for Welfare on the 7th of March and letโs โLearn to Live our Best Livesโ together.
