CEC became an official IELTS test centre in 2012 and has successfully run the IELTS exams for the last five years. IELTS is the International English Language Testing System, the world’s proven English language test. It is designed to assess the language abilities of those who

wish to work or study in countries where English is the primary language of communication. It is recognised by thousands of organisations, including universities, government agencies and corporations. IELTS reinforces its position as the world’s most popular high-stakes English proficiency test for higher education and global migration, with a record of 2.9 million tests taken around the world in the last year. In Ireland, IELTS is mainly used as a measure of English proficiency for University entrance requirements, immigration and professional registration. Since the first test in July 2012, CEC IELTS Centre has helped many candidates to achieve their dreams to study, work or live where the English language is used.
