Cork Occupational Therapy Services Ltd are currently looking to employ two full-time and one Part-time (3 days) Senior Occupational Therapists to work in third level education. The chosen candidates will be contracted in, on a full-time in a third level educational establishment in the Galway area. The part-time, 3 day a week post, will be in the Limerick area. The role will involve supporting students who are registered with the Disability Support Service (DSS) in the different educational establishments. This post would suit a person who has a wide range of experience across psychosocial, physical and sensory difficulties. The chosen candidate will work directly with other staff in the DSS in the relevant institution, supporting students with a wide range is issues from neurodivergence, physical and sensory difficulties and mental health issues, to engage in their studies and daily occupations associated with life in a third level education. Part of the role will involve completing needs assessments and working as a Disability Advisor to students.
Requirements of the Occupational Therapist
• A BSc in Occupational Therapy or an equivalent CORU registered Occupational Therapy qualification.
• Must be registered with CORU
• Membership of AOTI
• Occupational Therapy Private Indemnity Insurance
• Must have at least 3-years' experience.
• Experience working with people who are neurodivergent beneficial.
• Experience of working with supporting people in education beneficial.
• Excellent verbal and written skills essential in English.
• Familiar with the statutory body’s regulations and policies
• Computer efficiency especially proficient in office suite, and online communication,
• Be flexible to work remotely or onsite dependent on healthcare guidelines.
• Be able to complete remote campus site visits.
