A huge congratulations to all the children at churchtown national school on their outstanding performances tonight at their Christmas pageant. Well done to all children and all staff who worked wonders with the kids!

The used clothes collection raised €555 in funds for the new school building. Sincere thanks to all in the village who supported this appeal.

There was great excitement yesterday afternoon when the new school extension was open for viewing. Everyone was delighted to see the space and fabulous new facilities the children will have. Everyone in school is looking forward to moving in on Monday.

We are so thankful for all the support given over the past months in moving towards our target. As a final effort to reach our target, letters have been sent to possible corporate sponsors and to all households in the parish for support. All donors support will be recognised on an 'Appreciation Tree' which will be painted on a wall and permanently displayed in the the reception area of the new school building. However, please do not feel in any way under pressure to contribute as we are fully aware that so many of you have already given.

Thank you so much for your support of our Monster Christmas Raffle in aid of our School Building Project. Our raffle raised in excess of e4 300 which we are delighted with, especially as this takes us over the e40 000 mark for our total raised so far.

An Evening with the Duhallow Choral Society will take place this Sunday 15th December at 7pm in St. Nicholas Church, Churchtown.
Tickets will be on sale after 11.30 am mass in Churchtown and at the door before the event.
