Here’s a snippet of Alex Petcu and Davide Marinelli in rehearsal for the Irish premiere of ‘Fingerprints’ in this year’s Cork Midsummer Festival.
A fully improvised, multi-disciplinary performance, with drawing, movement and music interacting in real time. This is going to be a magical experience in the beautiful Triskel Christchurch this Sunday 21st at 2pm and 7pm.
The project has a host of MTU Cork School of Music staff, alumni and students involved:

Congratulations to 3rd Year BMus student Alex Hennessy won the Bass Solo at Feis Ceoil in Dublin on Wednesday night! He was also Very Highly Commended in the Plunkett Greene Cup for Interpretation. Superb achievement for a terrific singer and a great worker!

We are delighted to announce that our WINDWISE programme will now also run out of Scoil Oilibhéir in Ballyvolane. These fun music classes for children in 1st to 4th class are open to all students to apply! We are very excited to bring the programme to this new centre. 🎉

We were so lucky to have Kasper Szymocha intern with us for his work placement. Kasper worked as a photographer capturing some amazing moments including live shows, conferences, classes and projects that ran in MTU CSM during the year. He is studying photography at Crawford College of Art and Design. We are so grateful for the amazing work he did and have some great photos and videos to show for it. Applications for Buttons & Bellows are open until Wednesday 17th of June, 5pm. Buttons & Bellows is an accordion group-class for students aged 7 years and upward. In weekly 45-minute sessions, students discover the accordion through musical games, solo and duet pieces, and joyful group music-making—building skills such as rhythm, listening, music literacy, teamwork, and confidence along the way. With fun performance opportunities throughout the year, young musicians learn to play together, follow a conductor, and shine on stage. Beginner accordions are available on loan on registration for the course.
