We feel it is important that UCC students are aware of the work done in the European Union and Ireland’s involvement in European issues, as well as be able to enjoy different aspects of the wonderful cultures of Europe while studying at UCC. As it s

tands, we feel there is a deficit of such debate, discussion and celebration within UCC, and we as a society try to counteract this by hosting a diverse and interesting range of events throughout the academic year. Our events range from in-house debates and discussions on topical European Union issues, to events to celebrate and learn more about the different cultures and languages within Europe. We try to cover as broad a spectrum of events as we can, political, historical, cultural or otherwise. With the days becoming darker and colder as we continue into October, nothing better than a cup of tea or coffee to warm you up during the day! Join us on Thursday 9th October from 12:00 - 14:00 in the Hub Maker Space for our first “United in Diversi-tea and Coffees” event of the academic year, a great way to get to know the society committee and fellow society members. Be sure to bring your own reusable coffee cup. All students are welcome! 🫶☕️

Don’t forget that later that day we’ll also have our collaboration event with our friends in from 18:30 - 19:30 in Kane G18!

We were delighted to hold our Extraordinary Committee Meeting tonight on Google Meets in which we elected 11 new members onto the UCC Europa Society committee.

It’s that time of the year ahead, our EGM which is you’re chance to join the UCC Europa Society committee, and be part of the amazing team that plans and runs all of our society events throughout the academic year ahead!

Our EGM will take place online via Google Meet on Tuesday 30th September from 17:00-18:00. The link will be sent out closer to the time by email to all society members. Keep an eye on our stories throughout the week leading up to it as committee members past and present share their experiences in the available roles!

Any questions please reach out, and best of luck if you are running for a position! Also, during the meeting we will finally reveal the name of our new mascot. Hope to see you there!
