Sensory week….
Sensory play includes any activity that stimulates a young child's senses of touch, smell, taste, sight and hearing, as well as anything which engages movement and balance. Sensory play helps to build nerve connections in the Brain and encourages the development of language and motor skills.
This week the children got to explore their Senses through the various types of play including the use of science. We died some rice green to make it look like grass. The children enjoyed scooping, pouring and playing with their animals in the grass. We used various smells(lemon, almond and vanilla) which encouraged a child to explore their senses even more. We will continue to try various colours, textures and materials to explore

Play is vital in a child’s life. Whether it be water play, sand play, messy play, constructive, imaginative or outdoor play every type of play is just as important as the next ⚽️🧩🚲🛴👗👘🧸🚂🪀
Play builds imagination and creativity. Play enables a child to explore the world they live in and help improve their cognitive, physical, social, and emotional well-being. Through play, children develop social and cultural understandings. They learn skills they need for study, work and relationships which also helps with the development of their language and literacy skills.
