🌊 TY Bonding Trip to Ballyhass Lakes! 🌳
Our Transition Year students enjoyed their first trip of the year today with a fantastic bonding day at Ballyhass Lakes, Coachford.

The day was packed with fun, laughter and plenty of challenges, from the Water Park and High Ropes to archery. Students were encouraged to step outside their comfort zones, support one another and embrace new experiences. 💪🎯

More than just a great day out, the trip promoted personal growth, confidence, resilience and teamwork, while helping students build new friendships and strengthen the TY group as they begin their year together.

A brilliant start to what we hope will be a memorable and rewarding Transition Year! ⭐

Well done to all our students for getting involved, supporting each other and giving everything a go! 👏

🎉 Welcome & Farewell at McEgan College 🔑🏫

We’re delighted to welcome Mr. Stephen O’Sullivan as our new Deputy Principal! Mr. O’Sullivan joins us from Terence MacSweeney Community College in Cork, where he has been working as an Assistant Principal I. We look forward to having him as part of our team.

At the same time, we bid farewell to Mr. Hugh Coughlan, who is leaving McEgan College to take up the role of Principal at Mayfield Community School. We thank him for his contribution and wish him every success in this exciting new chapter.

A massive congratulations to our very own Ryan Slattery who represented Laochra Óg at the All-Ireland Féile over the weekend in Mountmellick, Laois! ⭐

Ryan played in goals as his team battled through 6 tough, competitive matches against counties from all over Ireland — having already won the Cork Féile to earn their place there.

And to top it all off, Laochra Óg brought home the Cup! 🏆🎉

We are so proud of you, Ryan! ☘️

Many thanks Inver Macroom Junction for this generous donation. This will help us create a sensory garden for our students. We are so grateful for your continued support!

We’re delighted to support McEgan College with a €1,000 donation through the Leading Lights programme.

The funding will go towards the development of a sensory garden for students in the ASD unit, creating a calm and welcoming outdoor space they can enjoy each day.

Following last year’s support for the sensory room, we’re proud to help the school continue developing meaningful spaces for its students. 🌿

🌟 LEAVING CERT GRADUATION 🌟

Last week, we said a proud and emotional goodbye to our 6th Years at their graduation ceremony.

They arrived in 2020 wearing masks and keeping their distance, they leave with big smiles and even bigger futures ahead of them.

Wonderful memories and friendships were made over six special years together, and we couldn’t be prouder of the young adults they have become.

To the Class of 2026, we wish you every success and happiness in whatever comes next. You’ve got this. 🎓

A really enjoyable end of year trip to Ballyhass for our 2nd year students last week. They took part in water activities, axe throwing, archery tag, trampolining and team building activities.
