š BComm Class of 1981 ā 45th Anniversary Reunion
It was wonderful to welcome back the BComm Class of 1981 to UCC to celebrate their 45th anniversary. Alumni travelled from the Netherlands, UK, Derry, Kerry, Donegal, Limerick and Dublin, as well as Cork to reconnect, reminisce and celebrate lasting friendships forged at UCC.
"Thank you to everyone who joined us for this special reunion. š
The catch up and chats were easy and we got some nice emails and messages over the past 36 hours thanking us, saying how enjoyable it was and wondering if we are organising a 50th one!"
- Richard Healy, one of the BComm Class of 1981 organisers

An inspiring evening brought alumni and friends together at UCC this week for a compelling talk on āThe Pivotal Role Women Have Played in AI Development.ā
The guest speaker, SiobhĆ”n OāLeary, CEO of The Institute of Applied AI, delivered a fascinating exploration of womenās contributions to artificial intelligence across history, from Ada Lovelaceās pioneering work in the 1800s, through the codebreakers of Bletchley Park and the ENIAC Six programmers of the 1940s, to the groundbreaking achievements of Margaret Hamilton, Grace Hopper, FeiāFei Li, Timnit Gebru, and Joy Buolamwini.
The talk was followed by an engaging Q&A, adding further depth to the presentation. The event was proudly hosted by the UCC Women Graduatesā Association.
