Get Ready for the Knockskeagh Golf Classic!

Dear Parents, Friends, and Supporters,

It’s that exciting time of year again! We are thrilled to announce that our annual Knockskeagh Golf Classic will take place at the beautiful Clonakilty Golf Club on Saturday, September 26th.

We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who has sponsored and supported our events over the years. Your incredible generosity has directly transformed our school environment, helping us fund our AstroTurf, Sensory Garden, and dedicated Special Education Rooms—providing a truly fantastic school experience for our wonderful children


This year, our goal is to fund a brand-new Outdoor Sensory Area. This inclusive, natural space will be a massive addition to our school, offering a nurturing environment to support the well-being and development of all our pupils

Say Yes to Languages

We are delighted to have been chosen to partake in the Say Yes to Languages programme this year, as we begin to implement the Modern Foreign Languages aspect of the new Primary School Curriculum.

As part of this exciting development, we have chosen French as our school’s selected language.

Pupils from 3rd Class upwards will build awareness of foreign languages and cultures
through songs, rhymes, games, stories and simple everyday phrases. Our 5th & 6th Class pupils will also engage in French language classes, where they will develop basic vocabulary and conversational French in a fun and engaging way.

We are looking forward to introducing our pupils to the French language and culture, and helping them to develop confidence and enthusiasm for language learning.

Celebrating School Life on Social Media – Protecting our Children

At our school, we love celebrating the wonderful things that happen every day. From special events and achievements to school trips, projects and the many moments that make our school so special, we are proud to share these experiences with our wider school community.

Going forward we will continue to celebrate and share all that we do across our school social media platforms. However, as part of our ongoing commitment to safeguarding our pupils, we have made the decision that we will no longer share photographs of faces of children on our social media accounts. This decision has been made with the safety, privacy and wellbeing of our children at the heart of it. We believe that by removing photographs of children from our social media, we can further protect their privacy and help keep everyone in our school community safe. This does not mean we will stop celebrating our children or showcasing the wonderful things they achieve. We will continue to share the life of our school through photographs of activities, displays, artwork, projects, performances and the many other ways we can capture and celebrate school life – simply without identifiable photographs of our pupils.

Our school website will continue to showcase school life and celebrate the achievements, activities and experiences of our children. As part of this, photographs and other images will continue to feature children’s faces.

We are incredibly proud of our children and everything they accomplish, and we look forward to continuing to share those successes with you in a way that puts their safety and privacy first. Thank you for your continued understanding and support as we work together to keep our children safe.

Technology Classes at Knockskeagh 🖥️📱

This week, all our students began their technology classes!

This term, our infant classes are focusing on phonics games using our iPads, while students from 1st to 6th class are developing their typing skills using the Typing.com website.

Each child even has their own login, which they can use at home if they wish!

We are so lucky to have a wonderful computer lab in our school, with over 30 laptops available for our students to use. 💻

We also have 32 iPads, which are used by every class each week as part of their school day. 📱

We are delighted to see our students developing their digital skills and enjoying technology as part of their learning! 😊

We have had a busy week at Knockskeagh NS!

It has been super to welcome back all our wonderful pupils as well as all our new fantastic pupils!

All the children have lit up our school and it has been a hub of activity and enjoyment!
