It is with deep sadness we hear of of the passing of the Beautiful Elmarie. A woman who was truly passionate in all she did, who made a difference in the lives of Cork arts community in Cork. She was truly a beacon of light, an inspiration and one of a kind lady. Sleep peacefully Elmarie. Your words of encouragement always meant so much.

Here at Cork's 96FM we are devastated to hear about the passing of Elmarie Mawe.

As the long-time presenter of The Arts House here on Cork's 96FM, she spent almost 3 decades spotlighting and supporting Cork’s vibrant cultural scene.

A PPI & IMRO Radio Award winner and a primary school teacher, Elmarie was a defining voice of Sunday morning radio, bringing local theatre, literature, and music into thousands of homes across the city and county.

Loyal listeners, Cork performers and those in the radio and entertainment industry will remember her warmth and resilience, her beautiful voice and great sense of humour, which all cement her status as one of Cork radio's most beloved figures.

It really was a wonderful Singing Sunday Session. 😊🎵 Our first group rehearsal with The Hill Harmonics Choir, the_sonatinas_choir The Showstoppers and The City of Cork Male Voice Choir in preparation for our December Concert in Cork City Hall.

We are all set up in Glounthaune Community centre today from 11.00-2.00 for the Open day. We are delighted to return to the centre and bring The Hummingbirds Chorus to the centre, a singing group on Tuesday mornings from 11.30-12.30. This community centre has a special place in my heart it is where Sonatina Music Academy started its group classes of musical theatre, the Monophonics childrens choir and where the Sonatinas choir started their journey, Glounthaune Community Association

Join our Sonatina Youth Choir which offers an audition-free opportunity for young singers to build confidence, learn proper vocal techniques, explore a range of music genre perform on stage and experience the wonderful benefits singing in a group has to offer and have fun!

Choir Details:
* Age Group: Open to children from age 9-17 years.
* Rehearsals: Classes run on Wednesdays from 5:00PM to 5.50PM in Gaelscoil Ui Drisecoil primary school in Dunkettle Glanmire
* Directed by Rachel O'Brien, an experienced choral conductor and award winning singing teacher. (The Sonatina's, The Showstoppers The Hill Harmonics Choir The City of Cork Male Voice Choir)
* No auditions required—only a love of singing is necessary to join.

Benefits
* Vocal Technique: Students learn essential vocal techniques and breath control. Rachel specialised in vocal pedagogy to deliver correct vocal technique within the choir
* Diverse Repertoire: singers explore multiple musical genres, including pop, musical theatre, and traditional folk music.
