A vocal group combining singing with a meditation/ mindfulness element creating a powerful synergy that enhances both your vocal ability and the positive benefits singing has to offer. When you merge the physical act of singing with the focused presence of mindfulness, we unlock therapeutic, physical, and cognitive benefits.
Singing paired with meditation rapidly lowers cortisol levels while triggering the release of oxytocin and endorphins.
The combined focus on breath and pitch acts as a natural mechanism for physical and emotional release.
Singing helps ground you in the absolute present.
Build & develop Breath Support and lung capacity, teaching correct breathing technique for singing and adding Mindful movement you observe your breath, which directly improves your diaphragmatic control, lung efficiency, and voice projection.

Whether you're just starting out or looking to refine your vocal skills, Sonatina Music Academy offers singing programs for every age and stage. From youth and teen ensembles to adult choirs & groups. Our qualified singing teachers and experienced choral directors guide singers through vocal technique, ear training, and harmony in a supportive, confidence-building environment. Rachel O' Brien leads the vocal department within Sonatina.

Our Singing Groups Include:
* Ceoladh Chorus – Sonatina's vibrant youth choir exploring various genres of music. Age 8–16.
* Pop Starz ensembles – music groups with harmony and vocal training based on pop singing and pop singing technique. Different age groups are available for these ensembles.
* Musical Theatre – Singing, acting, and movement combined in these classes, the love of all things musical theatre. Chorus Kidz age 5–7 and 8–12 years. The adult musical theatre group Showstoppers is available.
* The Sonatinas Choir – Adult ladies choir (65 members)
* The Hill Harmonics – Adult mixed choir (55 members)
* The City of Cork Male Voice Choir
* The Hummingbird Chorus — adult singing group - morning time
Students also have the opportunity to take RIAM grade exams, perform at prestigious venues like Cork City Hall and the Everyman Theatre, and develop their musicality in a welcoming, professional setting.
