A wonderful morning at Cork Harlequins as we welcomed some of our incoming First Year students to Scoil Mhuire College. 💙💗
The girls enjoyed icebreakers, team-building activities and an introduction to hockey, while getting to know one another ahead of September.
A sincere thank you to Mr. Kearney (PE), Maria O’Connell (Hockey Coordinator) and Ms. Graham (Goalkeeper Coach) for organising such an enjoyable event. We are also grateful to Senior A players Julie O’Farrell, Isabel Healy and Rebecca Johnson for generously giving their time and sharing their love of SMC hockey.
A special thank you to First Year Head Mrs. Johnston for dropping by to meet the girls and offer a warm Scoil Mhuire welcome.
A lovely example of our ‘ Nurturing for Life’ ethos in action as we look forward to welcoming the Class of 2031. ✨

As our Leaving Certificate and Junior Cycle students begin their exams, we want you to know one thing:
You’ve got this... and we’ve got you. 💙🩷
Over the years, you have worked hard, grown in confidence, overcome challenges and achieved so much. Now is the time to trust in your preparation, believe in yourself and take each exam one step at a time.
At SMC , we believe in helping every student reach their full potential while nurturing for life. These exams are important, but they do not define you. Your character, kindness, resilience and determination matter just as much.
Be proud of how far you have come. Stay calm, do your best and remember that an entire school community is cheering you on every step of the way.
Wishing all our Junior Cycle and Leaving Certificate students the very best of luck.
You’ve got this. We’ve got you.

🇫🇷✨French Exchange 2026✨🇮🇪
What a wonderful and enriching experience for our students during this year’s French exchange with our partners in Rennes and Douglas Community School.
From exploring the charming leaning houses of Rennes and visiting its beautiful Art Deco swimming pool, to learning traditional Breton dances at the Cercle Celtique de Rennes, our students immersed themselves fully in the culture and traditions of Brittany.
The trip also included memorable excursions to the spectacular Mont Saint-Michel and the historic walled city of Saint-Malo, creating memories that will last a lifetime.
A sincere thank you to our hosts, staff, families and students who made this cultural exchange such a success. These experiences foster friendships, language learning, independence and a deeper appreciation of different cultures.
🇮🇪🤝🇫🇷 Vive l’amitié et l’échange culturel!

This week is National Volunteering Week, and its theme is ‘Building Community Together’. Volunteering is a core part of Gaisce, and participants volunteer across a variety of areas. Some of this year’s 5th year Silver Gaisce participants volunteered with Schools and Health Foundation both in Ireland and in Sierra Leone. Well done girls.
