At Sunny Days we are committed to providing a pre-school service of the highest standard.
Sunny Days Montessori school is a sessional Montessori school based in Frankfield, Douglas, Cork, operating 3 different classes, ducklings 8:45-11:45, Ladybirds 8:45-12:15 & Caterpillars 12:30-3:30. We are notified to and inspected by Tusla- The Child and Family Agency. Trained, motivated and friendly staff are the cornerstone of our preschool. We encourage a strong teamwork approach to help build
and support our shared objectives. Sunny Days is committed to equal opportunity in employment and we provide an excellent service for up to 45 children,and our aim is to provide the perfect environment for children to develop their social, personal and educational skills and learn through a Montessori curriculum. We provide a warm, loving, home-from-home environment, where each child is treated with respect and will develop and learn as individuals while feeling safe and secure. OUR MISSION STATEMENT
Sunny days Montessori School is structured towards the progression of
young childrens welfare and education. The mission goals are reached by providing a safe comfortable and happy environment. Children are encouraged to reach their full potential physically, mentally, socially and emotionally through Montessori equipment and games. Our staff undertake these goals and through professionalism and experience provide the children with a valuable platform for life after their preschool days. OBJECTIVES
• At Sunny Days our ethos and practice values diversity and promotes equality.
• We aim to select friendly, dependable, mature and professional staff through our
rigorous recruitment and selection policy.
• To ensure that the developmental, educational, emotional and social needs of each
child are met daily.
• The voice of the child is heard, respected and contributes to our programme.
• We aim to deliver a quality Montessori curriculum which addresses children’s wellbeing, identity and belonging, communication and exploring and thinking, along the
principles of Aistear, the Early Childhood Curriculum Framework
• We aim to make Sunny days accessible to all members of the community,
regardless of race, gender, family status, age, disability, or religious belief.
• We aim to work with ‘Síolta’ The National Quality Framework for Early Childhood
Education, by following its 12 principles of quality and the 16 standards within its framework.
• We operate within the Childcare (Pre-School Services) (No 2) Regulations 2006 and The National Standards for Pre-Schools.
• The environment is planned and well-organised in a way that suits the different needs of individual children, while keeping in mind the importance of Safety and Hygiene
• Parents are actively welcomed at Sunny Days at all times. We endeavour to share information and communicate with parents directly, in order to give feedback at the end of each day and to ensure that they are made aware of on-going developments in policies and procedures.
