Last week, St. Patrick’s College marked the graduation of our 6th Year Class of 2026. It was a bittersweet occasion as we bid farewell to this close-knit group. The ceremony provided an opportunity to reflect on some wonderful memories and lifelong friendships formed over the past past six years. We wish every one of you the very best in June and in your lives beyond secondary school.

It has been a fantastic year for basketball in St Patrick’s College with our Junior Girls advancing to the Quarter Finals of the league and our Minor Boys advancing to the semi finals. Students made great progress over the year and the sky is the limit for these young players.
A massive thank you to all the students who went training over the course of the season and we hope to see all of you involved again next year with the addition of our incoming first year group!

Last week our TYs were able to visit the Apple European Headquarters in Holyhill for the Apple TY Visit Experience. The girls were able to see some of the fantastic facilities as well get hands on with some Apple tech. Through interactive talks and activities, the girls gained a great insight into potential career paths in STEM . This was a fantastic opportunity and special thanks to past pupil Kelly Ronan for helping organise this.

Last Friday, our 5th-year PE class hit Marina Park for a photo orienteering event with a twist. Strategy was tested, paces were pushed, and some of the team photos were creative, to say the least! Shoutout to the winning teams who found all the checkpoints in record time, and to everyone for bringing the energy. A special thank you to Ms.Cronin and Ms.Hennessy for organising this fun event.

On Wednesday, May 13th, our An Cuan students visited Nemo Rangers for an action-packed morning dedicated to fun, fitness, and trying new things. Organized in conjunction with Cork Sports Partnership and Golf Ireland, the event provided a fantastic opportunity for our students to step outside their comfort zones and develop new skills. Throughout the morning, the group rotated through a variety of stations, trying their hand at golf, indoor rowing, cricket, and Revelate. The energy remained high and smiles could be seen all around. It was a wonderful day of teamwork and physical activity that left everyone feeling accomplished!

2nd year students got to take part in the Access UCC Future Me Campus tour on Tuesday. Our students go to experience a physics lab on sound, a fossil workshop and a super tour of UCC including the observatory. This trip will help our students build confidence and begin thinking about their strengths, interests and future options.
Thanks to all the Access staff in UCC and to Ms Courtney for organising.
