An-bhródúil as ár ndaltaí! Making literature fun! Students must study a novel, play, short stories, film and poetry for Higher Level Irish. Here our second year students have made a short film based on the play "Gleann Álainn" by Brian Ó Baoill. Not only did they develop their language skills, but showed us how creative, collaborative and confident they are. Maith sibh!

Lá den chéad scoth ar an gcnoc inniu. Chuireamar tús le Corn Mhic Shuibhne-blitz peile don 1ú bl agus 2ú bl san Aonad agus i mar aon leis an bpoc fada. Maith sibh go léir!
Our inaugural MacSwiney Cup was a great success. Organised by 2nd year students in Gaelcholáiste Mhic Shuibhne as part of Seachtain na Gaeilge, 1st and 2nd year students from Terence MacSwiney Community College and Gaelcholáiste Mhic Shuibhne came together to play in this mixed blitz. Followed by our annual poc fada! Lá iontach!

Every year, Gaelcholáiste Mhic Shuibhne, the Aonad lán-Ghaeilge of Terence MacSwiney Community College, offers two entrance scholarships worth over €250.
Sixth class pupils are asked to design a poster and write a short essay about aspects of Irish language, culture, music or sport that they enjoy.
Congratulations to Aimee and Ciara, this year's recipients, who were presented with their scholarships in University College Cork by Professor Pádraig Ó Macháin, Head of Modern Irish and Professor Stephen Byrne, Interim Registrar of the University. We are very proud of our strong links with UCC and are grateful for their continued support.
