Phrasals verbs are very common in spoken English and often describe an action. A phrasal verb is normally the combination of a verb and a preposition. Here are a few that I use all the time:
Get along - to have a good relationship.
I get along with my colleagues at work.
Take up - to start something new.
I have just taken up yoga and I love it!
End up - to arrive at an unexpected destination.
