❎Myth:Mindfulness is sitting doing nothing for long periods of time.

✅Fact: mindfulness is much more than meditation yes meditation is a great practice and can be done for any period of time even 1 minute.

✅More importantly mindfulness is about developing an awareness of thoughts feelings sensations and our surroundings, bringing awareness to the present moment to create a deeper connection to ourselves and others and build an appreciation to the richness to our lives.

Did you know…

How you choose to speak to yourself when you are stressed anxious or overwhelmed can impact the outcome and time you spend in this state?

We often berate when we are anxious asking ourselves things like:

Why can I not cope better with this?

I am a failure.

Others are much better than me at coping.

I am stupid for feeling like this.

💔Speaking like this to ourselves can actually add an additional layer of stress!!

Next time you find yourself beating yourself up for feeling stressed anxious or overwhelmed ask yourself:

❓What would I say to a good friend who is in the same situation??

🤗Say these things to yourself!

Maybe some things like:

🥰I am doing my best.

🥰I will be ok.

🥰I am safe.

🥰This will pass.

Notice how this helps you in your time of need and helps you deal with the situation a little better x

❤️ become your own best friend!
❤️ replace you inner critic with your inner ally!

✅Send this to a friend who may need it

I am not buying into the pressures of New Year New Me!

As a coach and wellness practitioner I understand the value of goal setting BUT not under the pressures from society and social media!

In my work at Willing Wellness I met women who are hanging on by a thread, tired, doing it all, overwhelmed, exhausted and feeling under valued, working , parenting, and caring.

❌If this is you, adding new goals just because you feel pressure to will only add to your stress.

✅Allow yourself to let go of old patterns of doing too much for everyone else and find some calm in 2026.

I was once this person stuck in cycles of stress and my nervous system was never relaxed.

Now I embrace:

❤️ caring for myself as well those I love

❤️ rest and recovery

❤️ nervous system reset

❤️boundaries

❤️reflection

❤️joy

❤️nature

❤️calm

❤️gratitude

Instead of setting new goals I am making a promise to look after ME again in 2026 for my own happiness and to bring the best version of myself to those I love most ❤️

❤️For the ladies here who have been putting others needs before their own since they were children! ❤️

🌟We take on roles as children without our knowledge and sometimes without our parents intent,it just happens organically at times.

🌟Young girls typically eldest daughters tend to take on a caring or helper roles in their early years.

🌟This can look like minding siblings and helping with parental responsibilities.

🌟 This early responsibility leads to a child taking on an identity often for life.

🌟The child scarifies their emotional needs for others.

🌟This leads to an adult who never asks for help and when they do it is not reciprocated.

🌟it leads to an adult who continues to care for others in their lives and sacrifice their own needs.

🌟if you have been this person and feel burnout being the doer, the organisers, the planner, the emotional support ect it’s time to change.

✅Take back your power and learn to create healthy boundaries to protect your energy.

✅Delegate responsibilities and ask for help.

✅Make time for yourself.

✅Prioritise your own emotional needs.

✅Practice self compassion.

✅Tell yourself you are worthy.

✅Add yourself to the list to the list of people you care about.

🌟FIND YOUR OWN CALM OR STAY IN YOUR OWN CHAOS🌟

Being accountable for your work win wellness is a gift we all have.

Choosing to take actions, even small to help when you are overwhelmed is taking the power away from the stress itself and giving it back to you!

As best you can choose what will help you find calm.

✅I can not express enough how power nature is in helping us calm and heal.

Behind every “perfect “ Christmas is a woman quietly holding it all.

🤶Planning
🤶Shopping
🤶Preparing
🤶Caring
🤶Keeping the peace
🤶Attending school activities
🤶Feeling overwhelmed
🤶Feeling stressed
🤶Feeling exhausted
🤶Feeling emotional

You may share responsibilities with you partner but as women we tend to take on the detail, the remembering the shopping the planning ect this is very real and know as the mental load!

This can become very overwhelming at Christmas!

✅This year be mindful of how much you take on.
✅Ask yourself could you delegate or remove some items from the to do list.
✅ Ask for help
✅ Choose ease where you can.
✅ Plan.. make lists
✅ Plan rest times

Give yourself permission to simplify,soften and slow down!

Remember if a man was doing all you are they would be know as a fabulous dad!!!
