Now open to the public!!!
In conjunction with UCC's MA in Museum Studies class of 2026. We are delighted to announce a collaborate new exhibition opening 29th May.
“Life, Death, Legacy: Ireland’s Connected Bronze Age”
A new exhibition at the Cork Public Museum explores the Bronze Age from a different perspective. Showcasing the work done by UCC postgraduate students, the exhibition explores life in the deep past (2500-500 BCE) and presents a dynamic, connected society shaped by metalworking and trade. Through intricate objects this show examines aspects of daily and ritual life – metalworking, feasting, luxuries, and burial traditions – revealing how people lived, created, expressed identity, and commemorated their dead.

We were delighted last evening at Waterstones, Patrick St, Cork to attend the launch of Doireann Ni Ghriofa's latest book, 'Said The Dead'.
As part of her research for the book, Doireann visited the museum to look at Our Ladys Hospital (Cork Lunatic Asylum) collection.
In 2017 we were donated several thousand objects from the hospital. Including medical instruments, photographs, a large telephone exchange, drawings etc etc.. and misc. items
We wish the very best for Doireann and her new book!
